Win V St Columba’s

Senior League V St Columba’s Fileapoidóirí Longfoirt seniors played St Columba’s Mullinaghta on Saturday evening last coming away with the league points in the end. Slashers started a bit “leisciúil” and were down 4pts early on but some solid play in the forwards saw a goal being snatched by Conor Clarke followed by a second by Robbie Clarke  which settled the team, though we were still down a few points at the short whistle. Some straight talking at half time set the team off in the proper frame of mind and some genuine hard work in the 2nd half paid dividends. Colm Farrell played very well and with a clean sheet was an important factor in the win as were goals by Paul Kelly and Rúairí Clarke.  The league goes into a break now during college exams which will give the team a chance to recover from some injuries and to enjoy some hard training as time out from the books. The club wishes all those players who are starting exams soon the very best at this time.  Great to see Niall Mulligan taking to the pitch, we wish Niall the very best as he finds his form and recovers from injury.
