U14 Hurlers Go To Feile this Weekend

Published in Hurling Club, News

This weekend we are travelling to the annual 'Feile na nGael' competition being held in the 'sunny southeast'. This year we will go as Longford Feile champions and are eagerly anticipating an enjoyable weekend with our hosts St. Mullin's of County Carlow. It is a young squad but the boys have prepared well and hope to acquit themselves very well on the national stage. Last weekend was a great one for the club. On Saturday our Seniors beat Warrenpoint (Co. Down) and Ringtown (Co. Westmeath) in our own tournament for the Donal Sheahan Memorial Cup. The final was a tight affair and could've gone either way but it was indeed lovely to win it. Final score: Slashers 3-13 Ringtown 3-10. Special thanks to the two travelling clubs as well as to the Sheahan family, Carol Murray, Adrian Flynn, Joe McDermott and Micheal Wall for their efforts to make sure it ran off smoothly.
