Flipeadóirí Longfoirt - notes Longfort 13pts – Luimneach 1-8 Well done to the county against Luimneach last Sunday with a first league win which was important to show intention and fight in the 2nd half when the game began to run away. Flipeadóirí Longfoirt was well represented on a day when the game was in the melting pot with Dermot Brady, Michael Brady, Andrew Dalton and Barry Gilleran (keeping his man scoreless) all playing their part and Colm Farrell and Peter Foy standing ready. It was not the perfect day for football but the players stood the test when the game heated up and as always home advantage was worth the two extra points in the end. All games from now on gain in importance and Longford will improve in every game with a lot of experience in the bank. Playing so many games is ideal training in hard conditions and it will pay dividends when the sod dries up and the legs are less heavy. Send on Kildare! Senior Challenge Game V St. Faithleachs Fileapoidóirí Longfoirt seniors had a good challenge V St. Faithleachs  during the weekend where many younger players showed plenty of enthusiasm and hunger so early in the year.  The team was made up of many of last years U21 squad along with some regular seniors like Cíarán Farrell, Paul Kelly, Darren Flaherty, Brian Walsh, Adrian Duffy, Seán Clarke, Rúairí Clarke, Shane Rodgers, Andrew Kelly and Conor Clarke showing well on the night. Good to see young guns like Daniel Doherty between the posts and many others togged off like,  Patrick Farrell, Robbie Clarke, Conor Sheehan, Ben Ryan, Jack McNiven, Cían & Kevin Finnan, Seán Costelloe, Cian Kavanagh, Brian Rooney and Liam Barry and many others, who will bring new life to training in the coming months. The game was extremely competitive which pleased the management team. All players got game time on the night which was the objective and it was obvious that players were competing for places on our senior team. Thanks to St. Faithleachs for the game and we wish them every success in their own competitions. Players are asked to contact Eugene to make sure that they are in the loop and to get an idea of the training plan in the coming weeks. No better time of year to put in the hard miles for those who intend to be flying for the summer. Best wishes to Lisa Duffy and her fiancée who will marry in the coming weeks and to Triona, Bernard, Adrian and Rónan for a great day. Fileapoidóirí Longfoirt Club Draw will be taking place again this year and tickets will be available shortly. Draws will take place in April, May and June and we look forward to the same level of support over recent years which has been a key part of our financing.
