Senior Football Championship

On this Saturday evening, 9th. August Pairc na nGael, Dromard, our senior side play Abbeylara in round 3 of the 2014 Senior Football championship. This is a big game for our squad and they need your support. We have won round 1 and were defeated in round 2.

All County League Division 1

Our seniors had a fine win over Clonguish at Michael Fay Park in the ACL Div 1 on last Friday evening. The final score of 2-11 to 0-12 does not reflect how well they were on top in this game. After 10 minutes of the second half, following a real cracker of a goal from Mark Smith, the game was all over. Somehow we took our foot off the pedal and drifted into a very negative style of game, which gave many openings to the opposition The first 20 minutes display was very reassuring and positive. We are in joint 4th spot in the league table.

All-County League Division 3

Pride of place this week goes to our 'junior' squad following their fine win over a gallant Colmcille side at Emmet Park on Saturday evening last. Down 0-4 to 0-3 at half time, the side put in a fantastic performance in the second half and managed to win on a scoreline of 1-8 to 0-6. This was a great team performance on a terrible evening, weather wise, and only an all-out effort was good enough. This ends a great league campaign and this side must now prepare for a championship date with Forgney on Saturday, August 16th.
