Senior Football Club Notes – 25th August 2014

Senior Championship 2014

Our seniors made a tame exit from Championship 2014 when they were easily defeated by Emmet Og at Pearse Park on Sunday last. The final score of 0-11 to 1-4 does not reflect the overall superiority and dominance of the opposition. Our only score of the first half, a point from a free after 3 minutes, and no score for the remainder of the half was not what was needed to progress in the championship. It was a very tired performance, with many basic mistakes, wrong options and a considerable amount of possession given away, easily. We congratulate Emmet Og and wish them well for the remainder of the championship.

Our next senior league game is on this Friday evening 29th. V St. Patricks, Ardagh, at Keenan Park, Ardagh at 7-15pm. We are lying 2nd in the league with 2 games remaining, St. Patricks and St. Marys. We need victories in both to keep in contention for league honours.
