Minors Leinster Final

Published in News, Senior Football

Comhgairdeachas to our minor players Ronan Sheehan, Liam Barry and Cian Finnan and all the Longford team who have made it to a Leinster final. It will be great to see the Longford colours in Croke Park and let us hope we have a big club turnout to cheer them on. Maybe Iarnród Eireann will put on a special train to add to the occasion. Slashers seniors are continuing to build well, ahead of any championship assignment. Training is going well and players involved in exams and working abroad are starting to make a welcome return which has added tempo to training. Our juniors had a league game V Shroid last Saturday which was a good chance for younger players to show. Slashers had a good win and it was good to see Daniel Doherty between the posts as a keeper for the future. Shane O Connell and Shane Dann showed great touches in the game and Andrew Lyons worked hard in the centre.  The forwards were in tune and passed around clever ball to make scores with seniors Ross Flaherty, Ruairí Clarke and Andrew Kelly all showing well. Nathan Steele was a player used on the day and he certainly showed signs of his importance for the future in the club and soon will be part of the senior set-up.   Team: Daniel Doherty, Conor Clarke, John McKeon, Martin Jennings, Shane Dann, Shane O Connell, Sean Clarke, Ruairí Clarke, Andrew Lyons, Cíarán Farrell, James Martin, Patrick Farrell, Andrew Kelly, Ross Flaherty and Mark Mulligan. Subs: Nathan Steele, Danny Monks, Hugo Carey, Aiden Gilleran, Eoin Bartley
