Underage Football Club Notes – 3rd June 2014

Published in News, Underage Football

Our under 14s continue their preparations for the championship with training on Thursday at 6. Our under 12's had a comprehensive win over Allen Gaels from Drumshambo in round 3 of the Longford Leitrim League, the final score line being 4-14 to 1-5. This was a big improvement on their last performance against St Mary's of Carrick on Shannon, who defeated them rather easily in Round 2. Best performers on the night were Ben Lynn at Full Back, Sean Morgan at Centre Back, Midfielders Dean Coughlan and Mairtin Kenny and Forwards Ronan Sheahan, Donal Sheahan and Miroslav Cureja (who is having a marvellous season in his first year with the Club). Having said that, everyone played their part and there were great performances also from Jack Tyrell, who scored the best point of the game, Keelan Kelly who made some great passes, the Murray brothers who were very solid, Tim Connellan, Liam Sloane, Danny Ogboko and Ozzie Hackett who all defended well. Up front there was great work from Micheal Mulcahy, Callum O'Leary and Dean Wykes. Last but not least, Cian McGuinness made one outstanding save when called on and his kick outs were excellent. More of the same will be required against a strong Fenagh team on June 5th away from home. SQUAD (ALL USED) Mairtin Kenny, Sean Morgan, John Murray, Dean Wykes, Dean Coughlan, Donal Sheahan, Ronan Sheahan, Miroslav Cureja, Stephen Murray, Micheal Mulcahy, Tim Connellan, Liam Sloane, Keelan Kelly Ben Lynn, Ozzie Hackett, Jack Tyrell, Danny Ogboko, Cian McGuinness, Callum O'Leary. Our u10's were in blitz action this past week in Clonguish, and both teams acquitted themselves very well on the night. Training continues every Thursday at 6.
