Slashers player honoured

Dessie Barry who won six Longford senior football championship medals - with Longford Slashers in 1979, ‘80, ’89, ’90, ’91 and ’94 was honoured by Leinster GAA this week end. Dessie was nominated into the Leinster GAA gaelic greats in Croke Park during last Sundays Leinster final day. Dessie had been a key player for Slashers in the past and he was man of the match in each of the finals from 1989 - ‘91 and was also selected on the Longford Team of the Millennium.
