Ladies Club Notes 28th June 2015

Published in Ladies Football, News

Our U14s were in championship action last Tuesday evening where they took on Carrickedmond and won by 7-08 to 1-02. This set them up nicely for their trip to Wexford for the Feile finals at the weekend. They were staying with their host club Realt na Mara in Ballygarrett and they looked after the girls very well over the weekend. On arrival on Friday they took on Emmett Carn an Bhua and started off on a positive note with a good 2-06 to 1-0 win. They were provided with tougher opposition and were defeated by 3-12 to 1-02 in their second game against Tourlestrane. That finished their games for Friday and on Saturday morning they played Ballygarrett in their last league game and came out with a great 5-08 to 1-04 result. This qualified them from second place in the group with 4 points and they took on St. Paul's in the quarter finals on Saturday evening. Unfortunately the opposition proved too strong on the day and we were defeated by 5-05 to 1-0. The tournament turned out to be a very enjoyable affair and a great time was had by all. Our minor squad had a useful challenge against St. Faithleach's on Tuesday evening where unfortunately Louisa Duggan suffered a concussion in an accidental collision. We wish her the best in her recovery and hope to soon have her back on the playing fields again. Training continues as usual on Monday's and Fridays.
