Hurling Club Notes October 1st 2014

Last Wednesday week our U11s defeated Clonguish in a close-fought encounter to qualify for the U11 County Final in Pearse Park the following Sunday. Unfortunately things didn't go our way and we were well beaten by a stronger & older Wolfe Tones outfit. Most of this team is underage at this level next year and some for the year after so we're proud of their development this year and that they fought right to the end.
This game was followed by the replay of the Four County Senior League Final and, despite missing a lot of regulars, we were heartbreakingly foiled at the death and lost by a solitary point. This evening we face St. Mary of Carrick-on-Shannon in the Leitrim-Longford League semi-final and we would dearly love to mark the year by finishing with some silverware.
Our club is asking parents and members to march this Friday in support of St. Christopher's in a show of club unity and community solidarity.
