Hurling Club Notes May 7th 2015

Published in Hurling Club, News

On Saturday last many of our young players lined out for the county U14 and juvenile squads in blitzes hosted in Slashers and Mostrim. Hopefully this experience will stand them in good stead in the future. Our U14s face Wolfe Tones in the County Feile Final this Saturday at 1pm in Pearse Park. It's four years since we last won this title and it would be a great lift for the club to do so this year. Our seniors came away with a narrow victory against Tremane in the Roscommon Senior Hurling League on Sunday despite missing several of our more established players. Our next game is against Padraig Pearses and a win would guarantee us a place in the league semi-finals. Well done to all who made the effort on very unpleasant day for hurling. Hard luck to the county senior hurlers who lost to Monaghan on Saturday in the Nicky Rackard Cup first round which took place in Clones. Hopefully they can turn things around when they take on Donegal in Pearse Park this weekend.
