HURLING CLUB NOTES AUGUST 18TH 2015

Published in Hurling Club, News

This Wednesday August 19th sees our seniors taking on Clonguish in Round 1 of the County Hurling Championship in a repeat of what was surely the game of the championship last year. On that occasion the Lough Forbes men came out on top only after a trademark Joe O'Brien goal stole it at the death and we'd be hoping that fortune might smile on us this time around. Preparations have gone reasonably well with some decent performances in the Roscommon Senior League as well as remaining unbeaten in the Leitrim Hurling League. Fingers crossed our dual players will come through recent football fixtures unscathed and we should have a full squad to choose from. We would hope to have good support this evening. Throw-in is at 7.30pm in Devine Park, Edgeworthstown.
Well done to our U14 and U16 players who represented the county hurling squads on Sunday against Westmeath opposition.
The club wishes to express sincere sympathies to the Warren family on their tragic bereavement. Michael hurled with and against many of our younger players at county and club level and will be missed by all who knew him. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dhílis.
