Hurling Club Notes 7th October 2014
Last Wednesday our seniors traveled to Tubber, Co. Offaly, to play St. Mary's of Carrick-on-Shannon in the Leitrim-Longford Hurling League semi-final and came away with an impressive victory. Fair play to all who traveled and played despite being cruelly denied of our aim of reaching this year's County Hurling Final. The league final is now tentatively fixed for Sunday October the 19th. Congrats to Wolfe Tones on winning the County title on Sunday and commiserations to Clonguish. It must be said that there's only a puck of a ball between our three clubs which has to be a good thing for hurling in the county.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Paul Connell of Tesco, Longford, for their generous donation of equipment to our club.
We are hoping to run this year's Parish League on bank holiday Sunday October the 26th and to expand it as a Hurling Day for the entire club with something for everyone, young and old, to finish the season on a high.
Finally, congratulations to senior players George Balfe and Paddy Hegarty on their new arrivals.
