Hurling Club Notes – 17th June 2014

Published in Hurling Club, News

Well done to the Longford Senior County Hurlers who won their promotion playoff against Sligo on Saturday despite missing many regulars. As a result they will compete the Nicky Rackard Cup next year. 17 year old Slashers player, Cian Kavanagh, scored 1-4 from play in what was a memorable individual display. Also on Saturday, our U8s & U10s hosted two challenge games against Wolfe Tones yesterday as both clubs had a bye in the Westmeath U10 league. Our youngest players are improving all the time & it proved an enjoyable exercise for everyone. Our U12s are playing in the County Final taking place in Pearse Park this Wednesday June 18th. Our Seniors had a fine win last week in the first round of the Leitrim Senior Hurling League against Cluainín Iomáint (Glencar-Manorhamilton). We are playing St. Mary's of Carrick-on-Shannon next week. Details to follow.
