HURLING CLUB NOTES 16TH MARCH 2015

Published in Hurling Club, News

Last Thursday we launched a new club initiative whereby U6s, U8s and U10s got to experience hurling and football at the same coaching session in St. Mel's College gym from 6-8pm. The program continues this Thursday and next Thursday and we hope it will be successful in encouraging children in the parish to enjoy playing both of our Gaelic Games into the future.
On Friday night, the club hosted its annual social night, which was well attended and supported by the hurlers, footballers and ladies footballers, all who received medals on the night. In attendance were hurling and football AllStars John Mullane (Waterford) and Cillian O'Connor (Mayo) who graciously contributed to the presentations. The food was excellent and local band, JUNK DOG, kept the younger members dancing into the wee hours. Special mention also to Gerry Clarke who was awarded the Liam Hastings Cup.
Well done to the county hurlers and footballers who continued their winning ways at the weekend with wins over Warwickshire and Wicklow respectively. Hard luck to the U14 footballers in the County Feile competition on Saturday.
U14 training continues this week and U10s and U12s will resume next week. New members welcome. Inquiries to 087 9344157.
