Flipeadóirí Longfoirt V Emmet Óg Fileapoidóirí Longfoirt seniors played Emmet Óg in Killoe on a perfect day for football on Sunday afternoon last with the home side taking the win by 2pts. Slashers began well and in no time it was all square after Andrew Dalton levelled with a long range point to leave it one a piece. Killoe then got into a stride with some of their forwards popping over shots easily. Robbie Clarke got a crucial goal for Slashers leaving six points between the sides at the short whistle. Slashers came out rejuvenated and quickly got on the score sheet including with a perfectly worked goal made by Conor Clarke and finished with precision by Líam Barry to the net. This was a very positive outing for Slashers and there were solid performances all over the field including by Colm Farrell, Rónan Sheehan, Michael Brady and Paul Kelly. Adrian Duffy was full of play and its great to see Niall Mulligan making his way back to full form. Lots of lessons learned ahead of the championship including the need to be clinical with frees.  The key today for Slashers was honesty and competitiveness - ar aghaidh libh.
