Senior League Flipeadóirí Longfoirt  V Ballymahon  Flipeadóirí Longfoirt seniors played Ballymahon on Friday evening last coming away with the points. Slashers continue with a young team which is still blending and finding its way. Daniel Kirby found the net within six minutes which was the dream start though after that the home side pushed Slashers leaving it a draw at half time. Líam Barry is a player who is in form and is recognised as a natural talent and was quick to add his name to the score sheet.  As the 1st half progressed Slashers scores dried up and Barry Gilleran kept the board ticking over with three important frees. 2nd half opened a bit brighter with Kevin Finnan, Brian Walsh and Barry Gilleran popping over points. At this stage the game was finely balanced and the exchanges around mid-field considered close when suddenly Paul Kelly showed his full range of skills to navigate through a wall of backs to place Robbie Clarke in front of goal where there was no mistake. Eugene McCormack called on the heavy artillery at that stage and Niall Mulligan struck a beauty from the left wing. Others to claim points were Paul Kelly, Conor Clarke and the knacky wing forward Andrew Kelly. Solid performance as Slashers continue team building. At this time of year its about hard work and graft which pays dividends later in the summer when games are on a knife edge.
