This Friday evening we will have a special Presentation Night to honour all of our successful underage teams who’ve helped make 2018 a year to remember. Thanks again to all of our players, parents, coaches and volunteers who really put the collective shoulder to the wheel. Special thanks also to Orlagh Reynolds and the staff of the Longford Arms Hotel for giving the Slashers Hurling Club a second home.
Underage Hurling Cleansweep
On Sunday Nov 18th Longford Slashers won the County Minor Final & thus completed a remarkable haul of all hurling titles in Longford for 2018 save for the U21 & Senior championships. Total underdogs on the day, our U18s pulled off a remarkable performance to pip a fancied Wolfe Tones side in an enthralling contest. Featuring five juveniles and, buoyed on by the U16 success the previous Sunday, the players’ never-say-die attitude was really what got them over the line with just a point to spare. Congratulations and well done to all involved with this team.
