Good win Fileapoidóirí Longfoirt seniors played Abbeylara on Saturday evening coming out on top in the end. Slashers are coming together nicely and players have made a real effort in training which is building spirit in the team. There is a good atmosphere around the team with some of the younger lads like Daniel Kirby, Robbie Clarke and Cían Kavanagh stepping up at this level and gaining from the experience of the likes of Peter Brady and Paul Kelly.  Brian Walsh had an excellent game at wing back and maybe this is the spot for Brian to show his real skill. One good aspect for the team is that we now have a strong bench with many lads well able to hold a place and able to put pressure on lads on the field. Next game is Fri evening 29 Apr when we play St Columba's. Cian Kavanagh came on early as a black card replacement and Adrian Duffy, Ciarán Farrell, Patrick Farrell and Niall Mulligan got runs and got into the game quickly.
