🏆 Champions Times Two!
Saturday proved to be a truly unforgettable day for Longford Slashers GAA, as both our Senior Ladies and Senior Hurlers captured their respective 2025 County Championship titles.
Senior Ladies Football
The day began in superb fashion when our Senior Ladies made history once again, claiming their seventh County Title in succession with a fantastic victory over Clonguish. A glut of first half goals was enough to give Slashers the edge, running out winners on a scoreline of 5-15 to 0-14.

The ladies now turn their attention to the AIB Leinster Club Championship Quarter-Final this weekend:

Senior Hurling
Later in the day, attention turned to the hurling decider, as our Senior Hurlers faced Wolfe Tones in a thrilling County Final replay.
Slashers led narrowly throughout and, despite a late surge from Wolfe Tones, held firm to secure the title. A crucial goal from Mícheál Mulcahy proved decisive, while John Murray was deservedly named Man of the Match.

The hurlers now advance to face Aughrim (Wicklow champions) in the Leinster Junior Semi-Final on Saturday, 8th November.

👏 A remarkable double success for the club — congratulations to all players, management teams, and supporters who played their part in making it such a memorable day.
