There were no fixtures for our Senior men this week, with both the Senior and Junior A sides taking a short break from competitive action as they prepare for their next fixtures.

The Senior men return to action this Sunday, August 30th, when they take on Granard at 2.30pm in Keenan Park, Ardagh. This is the final round of the championship group stages, with both sides already assured of their places in the quarter-finals. The result will determine the final standings in the group, so another competitive encounter is expected.

The Junior A side are back in action this Friday evening, August 28th, when they welcome Kenagh to Michael Fay Park for an 8.00pm throw-in. A big home support would be greatly appreciated as the lads look to get back to winning ways.

Congratulations to our Senior Ladies, pictured in the main photo, who claimed their second piece of silverware of the season on Thursday evening after overcoming St Brigid's Gaels Ardagh in the Division 1 League Final.

A strong and composed team performance saw our ladies emerge victorious and retain their Division 1 League title for an incredible fourth successive year. 🩵🤍🎉

This is a fantastic achievement for the players and management, and great credit is due to everyone involved in maintaining such a high standard over the past four seasons.

Our Under 14 boys bowed out of the championship on Monday following a tough encounter against a very strong Shannon Gaels side. Well done to the boys for their efforts and commitment throughout the campaign.

Our Minor boys were in championship action on Tuesday, securing an excellent victory over Ballymahon-Forgney Gaels in Round 2. Well done to all the players and management involved.

The lads play Round 3 against St Vincent's this evening, Monday 24th August at 7.30pm in Monaduff.

Congratulations to all our members who received their exam results this week. We wish everyone every success in their future studies, careers and endeavours.

Our Under 16 boys were disappointed to lose out to an older and stronger Granard side on Thursday. The lads now progress to the Shield semi-final, where they face Wolfe Tones on Friday, September 4th, at 7.00pm in Michael Fay Park. Best of luck to the team.

Our Under 10 girls enjoyed a fantastic blitz in Mullinalaghta on Saturday morning, taking on teams from Mullinalaghta and Dromard. It was a brilliant morning of football, fun and friendship, with great enthusiasm on display from all the girls.

Well done to all our young players, coaches, mentors, volunteers and parents for another busy week representing Longford Slashers.

The weekly Club Lotto draw took place on Sunday evening.

There was no jackpot winner this week. Congratulations to our Lucky Dip winners Bryan Farrell and Ciara Flynn.
